Among his best-known works are the lengthy narratives Don Juan and Childe Harold's Pilgrimage; many of his shorter lyrics in Hebrew Melodies also became popular.

Petrodvorets, also known as Peterhof, is a grand palace complex near St. Petersburg, Russia, often called the "Russian Versailles." Built by Peter the Great in the early 18th century, it is famous for its stunning system of fountains, the most impressive of which is the Grand Cascade. This elaborate water feature consists of over 60 fountains and 200 bronze statues, with water flowing down terraces into a canal that leads to the Gulf of Finland. The entire system operates without pumps, relying on natural elevation differences to create spectacular water displays. Among its most famous elements is the Samson Fountain, depicting the biblical hero tearing open a lion's jaws, symbolizing Russia's victory over Sweden (shown on the 5K. stamp but, unfortunately, with hardly seen statue). It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1990 due to its outstanding cultural and architectural significance. The palace complex, with its stunning fountains, gardens, and baroque architecture, is a prime example of 18th-century Russian grandeur and European-influenced design.

Fountains of Petrodvorets, designed by Adolf Pletnev, combined photogravure and engraved (have no engraver names), and issued by the USSR on December 25, 1988.

- Large Cascade and "Samson" Fountain
- "Adam" Fountain
- "Golden Hill" Cascade
- "Roman" Fountain
- "Dubok" Fountain
