First question, do you agree there is a grill here?

Sorry for a phone picture, but a scan doesn't show anything. Needed proper angle with light.

If so, what will help me see the grill better?

Note: That paper is 9mm wide. The apparent grill seems wide enough that it might be 11mm.

Dip it in fluid as if looking for a watermark.

dip in fluid to remove the partial hinge would help. once dried, setup a light low to the table and take another picture. it should high light the grill.

don't measure it, count the vertical columns. 12 columns=F grill, 14 columns=E grill

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I haven't yet had the time to soak the hinge remnant off. I don't have any regular watermark fluid left either, but I do have some lighter fluid. I'm a bit scared to soak this stamp because it has some creases and small hints of perforation damage that I don't want to get worse. I'll see what I can get to on this soon.
