I would give the stamp a good bath then press dry it in a drying book.

Some will be angry for my saying this, but the stamp is worth a few dollars and judging by the back and the overall condition it will be worth zero IF you cannot get the animal glue off of it without seriously damaging or destroying it. A case of the juice not being worth the squeeze.

Yeah, water alone might not work. I used lighter fluid to remove tape once, wonder if that works on these old glues.

Update: I wrote my reply before seeing last post. Is that the same stamp? If so, nice job with the removal.

Now that you have a nice image, *you* should be able to count the number of rows and columns youself, use a catalog, and tell us what you think the Scott number is. Then we can confirm or correct your observations.
