The two NSW cancels you show are referred to as "rays" or "ray cancellations". They are not Barred Ovals. Each state has developed its own terminology to describe the types of cancellations. Number 53 is Balranald. It is not rated. It should have 20 rays surrounding the number 53.

The "Barred Oval" I have always known as the "Piecrust" cancel.

Is piecrust regional? If not, could I call these two a family piecrust? Sorry about that. I thought I had run out of stamps to ask about but they keep on turning up. Where is 455 please?

Can't help you with the second stamp. But according to my very limited knowledge 10 is WARNAMBOOL.

This time I do know MCCCC37 is 1437 Warburton. Roman numerals were use for 1000 to 1500. I think. It may be 1001to 1499.
