Nothing today yet, or on Monday. Sunday, went through two small cartons of empty albums and stockbooks picked up at the annual large lot auction on Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library. |

Quote: I assume there is a number after the 'A'? Alexandria is B01. Unfortunately Tim - it's a single 'A' - thanks anyway I have several of the B01 and B02 (Suez) already, so I am not confusing with them: (Goshh, I need to clean the scanner!) I seem to remember single 'A' mentioned used at Jamaica (in addition to the A01, A02 etc series), but I may be wrong. Seeing the single 'A' on Egypt stamps make me consider either Aden or Alexandria - but can't find any info about it. Anyone? |

Received a ISWSC Swap Circuit. Out of 100 stamps, found 46 for my collection. Also soaking and pressing stamps. All being fit in around playing Civ 6. |

Quote: Expanding my worldwide: now 13 bulging .. volumes Good to see other WW maniacs - keep it up paulyann I have been searching to try to identify my mysterious postmark, the British barred postmark with a single letter 'A'. For anyone curious: after seemingly countless number of attempts, google has finally provided a solution. It turns out it actually was used in Alexandria, as expected: http://www.egyptstudycircle.org.uk/post_marks.htmlNow I'll resume working on modern Egyptian pictorials |

Yesterday I went to a meeting in the stamp club of which I am a member, and picked up a few things. Some Swedish and Finnish stamps, but the most interesting was a cartoon of letters and stamps. I've been going through the cartoon today, and found some good Norwegian material, as well as quite a bit of letters from exotic locations such as Mongolia, Nepal and Malaysia, as well as European letters and postcards. A fun batch to work with, and I've found several items that will find a new home in my collection. |

Ha ha Jon! I have just unearthed that link, but you beat me to it by an hour Good you've identified them at least. I have finally received my long-overdue order of Schaubek A4 protective covers (6 weeks late with part of this order) so I can now exhibit my Estonia covers next week. |

Yesterday I wrote a post on the Farley blocks in reply to one of the posts on the site. Also was adding the Ickes provenance imperfs to the collection. After pointing out the story to PSE and Scott's, there is supposed to be a footnote added to the 2018 U.S. Specialized recognizing these stamps as being legitimate 1934 issues (which they are) instead of the 1935 reprints of the National Parks issues. Read Linn's from a week ago and began tidying up the stamp room a bit. BTW, Here's one of the Imperfs I was talking about to give a bit of context. It was originally certified as the reprint (Scott 756). It's now certified correctly as the original (Scott 740). |
