*** that was close. The html code works perfectly in the preview, but not in the final message. Weird ... I'm sorry, but I give up. Seems you have to use a notepad and copy those |

I have also noticed that the preview will show one thing and when actually posted it is something else. The preview seems to support a large character set than the actual post. |

I was sorting some British postal stationery yesterday and found a "black' printed item. It was a print to order item. I looked in the catalog for the number but could not find it listed. Contacted my UK source and found out that it is the sepia printed item. Who knew that "sepia" in the US is a brown tint, and in the UK it is a black tint? Live and learn.... |

Working on my Denmark (Danmark)collection and doing inventory on EZstamp with 5 albums , using the old Scott Junior International, also Part II of same and my Scott Internationals in 6 volumes, bought early 70s. My dad had bought the old Scott Junior albums in the 60s from another stamp collector. Anyway I find difficult to identify the watermarks (any tricks, friends?) on earlier Danmark stamps, using Watermark fluid and lighter fluid. Besides the Albums I also have a bunch of interesting stock books which date back to the 60s also. I have a box full of these which represent many Countries. |

Read through the 2017 Scott US Specialized Catalog that recently came.
I haven't spent a lot of time with the Scott catalogs over the years, since my interests were fairly narrow. I enjoyed going through it, and thinking back to the 1971 edition, which was the first one I ever got and used. |

I had looked over my Scott Specialized this weekend as I was putting it to use. I only have interests in the sections up to booklets. I did not see any major changes, no re-numbering but a bunch of minors added. |

I prepared my Halloween stamp today using the 1974 Sleepy Hollow release. Lately I've been using an older first day cover (they're worthless) and having them cancelled a second time (still worthless but friends find them interesting.) In addition to the sleepy hollow release I used the monster stamps and cachet only Edgar Allen Poe covers. I find this to be fun for me as I've come up with combos over the years such as the Alcoholism issue with the other cancel being Temperance Michigan. |

Egypt's on the agenda these days. Sorted a big pile, mostly pictorials 50's to 80's. Expecting to fill a few empty spaces Disappointed that in that large pile I found only 2 stamps pre-1879 - and both in poor condition. Found some of the '79 an '88 pyramids with Hotel postmarks, quite cool. And some with the British (edit) numeral barred postmark with single letter 'A' - presume these are cancelled at the British post office in Alexandria? Any with knowledge on Commonwealth postmarks - please let me know if I am wrong, as I cannot find any reference about it. |

I'm putting German stamps into a new album, so I'm sorting Germanias. I'm amazed at how easy it is to read German watermarks.

Jon, Quote: And some with the British (edit) numeral barred postmark with single letter 'A' - presume these are cancelled at the British post office in Alexandria I assume there is a number after the 'A'? Alexandria is B01. However, Malta is A25, Gibraltar A26. A01-A18 are British West Indies, A27-A78 is Jamaica, A80-A99 was reserved for mailboxes. |
