tks tomtom. I guess ill wait it out. I've recently sent 2 email to *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. *** but never got a response.

Well, the mail address should be correct. But he is a senior and had quite a lot to do the last month. Now they have to work off everything of the annual auction that took place at the meeting. But I'll ask another member of the ArGe board, maybe he knows.

We really need a closer scan of the back side.
Esp. when blind punctures are involved.
Looks like F&M or E&M

DA/DG = Deutsch-Australische Dampfschiffs-Gesellschaft (German-Australian Steamship Company); used in Hamburg, 1900-1926.

I have a couple of German perfins you might help me with. Does anyone know from which firms they are? The second is a small anchor, the third a little cross or plus-mark. the fourth looks like a globe. They're all on stamps from the 1920s.
Appreciating your help!

Hi folks, I've in my collection this example of a Germany 1906 2 Mark stamp with a perfin which appears to me as originating from the Siemens Company, as the pattern is a capital 'S' intertwined with a lower case 's' (SiemenS?); the clue is the 2 postmarks.
Would soemeone be able to confirm this by any chance?
The stamp catalogue numbers are Scott=76, Yt=77, Michel=79a, GB=94b

Cheers,
..Adolfo

It's definitely Siemens.

Could be three different perforations. I would say it's
"3-SS-2-3" (Siemens-Schuckert, Kleinbauwerke, Berlin, Siemensstadt) or "3-SS-3-1" (Siemens & Halske AG, Kabelwerke, Berlin, Siemensstadt)

But to be shure, you can mesure the height (12,5 or 13 or 14 mm).

Damian ... sorry for the delay. I just read your ID question.

Here are the companies that used these perfins.
The last one (with the spider - Wiener Messe) is not German, but Austrian - especially when it was used in the 1920ies. It can be "Deutsch-Österreich" of course or maybe its was used later in the Ostmark period after the "Anschluss". There are some known issues in this time as well.

Here the descriptions from the German catalog, and a more detailed user information about the Austrian one from the wonderful Austria Perfin Special Catalog of Gerhard Sand.
