My name is David and I live in the Dallas area.

I collect US stamps, with particular interest to FDCs and se-tenant blocks. Currently, I'm trying to fill in the blanks in my album with mint stamps.

I starting collecting recently after not collecting for more than 20 years. I started before I was 10 and collected into my late-20s. (I'm now 46 and I'm trying to pace myself... there are so many stamps that have been issued while I was away!)

Just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Thank you, 51studebaker. I'm trying to grasp the immensity of it all. A lot has changed since the late 90s.

Welcome! Yes some things have changed. There are a lot more stamps to collect and the traditional dealer group is shrinking and many are online. You can interact with people all over the world now through forums like this.

@angore, back in my early collecting days, I chanced upon an elderly gentleman who owned a stamp shop a short drive from my home. He wasn't one to talk a lot, but he did augment my fascination with the hobby. The shop is long gone, but I enjoy the memories of that unassuming room. Seeing a few recent stamps that were issued on my hiatus rekindled that fascination.

I'm a philatelist again!
