It does indeed look like there is enough Aussie discussion to warrant it.
Would you be willing to go through all the World forums and hit the "Send note to Staff" link on one's that need to be moved once I create it? |

Thanks bobby.
A quick look and some of the OZ listings are hidden because they are not showing up as OZ threads in the thread title. How many there are?
Pre-1940 has 101 page of 40 threads.
Post-1940 has 45 pages of 40 threads.
If more than one person did it then double sending "Send note to Staff" could be a real pain.
Thinking! Any others got something to say? |

We could actually split up the forums with two people each and have one start at the beginning and one at the end. |

Great idea bobby.
I am in. How about some other helpers.
Once the threads are sent to "Send note to Staff" and moved they would no longer be seen on world wide forum. |

Yep. I'm going through the classic forum right now and moving anything that has australia(n) in the title. Others will need more knowledge than I have. |

Am getting a lot of threads with the images no longer in place. It stops the thread having any relevance or makes no sense so I am leaving them where they are.
Any issue with that? |

I see that a separate forum for Australian stamps has been created, so my comments, which are meant in the best spirit, might be too late and are being made after the proverbial horse has bolted.
I am not interested in Australian stamps. But, there maybe postings about the stamps from Oz or relating to Oz that would interest me. IOW, as a stamp collector, my interests lie elsewhere (no offense, the world is a big place), but there are or can be topics and comments related to Australian stamps that transcend the speciality which might interest me, but that I'll miss these going forward.
By placing all these topics on Australian stamps into a separate folder, you've effectively cordoned yourself away from me. As I look at new postings, I will just jump over and ignore, much as I do the topical, precancel and Canadian postings. I have no interest in those either. (I apologize in advance for my tunnel vision.)
Clearly, by having the separate section, you've achieved a goal, and I'm happy about that, but I think it is at a loss for a broader community.
I do realize that you'll be thoughtful and post outside the section when Oz isn't directly on point, but, nevertheless, I think this is a loss for the broader community.
I do hope you attract people to post and read in the section, but I am concerned about an unintended consequence and thought I'd speak up, albeit too late. I think it is actually a loss for Australian stamps. Perhaps there will people who don't collect Australia, but might who will now maybe not be exposed? Just a thought.
Best,
Larry |

Hi Larry,
Like you, I also initially look at 'new topics' and then 'active topics'. I look at the subject line and the ones that interest me are then selected. I do not know, or care what section/folder they are in. I do not understand why when looking at this list you skip over ones that are in the Canadian section/folder or any other folder. If the subject interests you then select it!
Also, if you do not collect Australia or Canada stamps why would some new topics in Australia be of interest any not ones in Canada?

While I somewhat understand your feelings I collect Canadian stamps and really appreciate having a separate forum for these. Without this separate forum I would have to wade through all the "rest of the world" ie non USA posts just to find Canada and I really do not have the time for that.
How much do you feel you are missing by having the Canada forum which is long established. I suspect you will find you are in the minority about this it will be interesting to see what anyone else posts.
