Residences With An Historical Significance.

How about residences with an historical significance. Shacks, log cabins,and palaces are acceptable. My contribution is the Pavilion at the Briars, St Helena. The residents of this house at one time or another included Wellington and the man he defeated in battle, the exiled Napoleon. My contribution commemorates the 175th anniversary of Wellington's visit to the house.

Here are some residences significant, especially to our American friends.
Mt. Vernon. Home of George Washington.



The Hermitage. Home of Andrew Jackson.



And Monticello. Home of Thomas Jefferson.



All from the 1954-61 Liberty Series.

And since I'm here at the scanner...
Mr. Roosevelt was a man of means. He had many residences.

Hyde Park, the family homestead.



Warm Springs GA, the matrimonial home.



And of course this one, the White House. But I believe it was just a rental.



The current tenants of the last one have decided to stay on a little longer.
