Hello everyone:

As some of you may have seen, I collect stamps with "monkeys", meaning, "non-human primates". But since I started that collection, and having been the owner/provider of a series of Manx cats (the tail-less breed of the Isle of Man) for many years, I also started a collection of stamps depicting the Manx cat. A fun project because there are plenty of cat stamps out there but not many with the rarer breeds! I have also added FDCs and NCs, some old postcards of the Isle of Man with the cat on them, some collector cards, and the Manx crown coins with the cat on them. Does anybody else collect their breed of cat (dogs allowed)? How do you go about looking for new ones? Here are some Manx cats issued by the Isle of Man post office. The first is SG399/402 from 1989 (or, Domfil cat ctalog MAN-989 1-4); the second, the most recent issue, from 2011 (SG1676/80)

Hello cobbie, welcome!

I suppose you could look on Google or such like for 'manx' under search or images or the different categories they have. Sometimes that works for me.

Now-a-days there are also personal personalized or customized stamps that you can make yourself or from others, from many different countries.

Other collectors of sellers of cat type of stamps on ebay or DelCampe could also be a source of information.

Here is a Manx cat stamp from the set of stamps in 1973 that also has a Viking ship stamp in it.
