My kids went to the post for me and bought the 2011 Christmas set.
It is only now that I have received a used one on an envelope, that the one of the stamps my Kids bought appears to be different from the used one. Is this normal, or has some colour been omitted? The red colour is nowhere near as bright.
The used stamp is the normal variety and the new stamp is the embellished variety with glitter on it, but the pic in the Stamp Bulletin for the embellished variety looks like the used stamp I have.

The used stamp.

The new stamp.

The carmine "bleed" on the 55c suggests someone has soaked in hot water.

BTW the Bulletin pics are never the same as real stamps,
colour loss is evident in production for mine.

Neither stamp has been soaked.

As long as I know yours are the same, then it must be normal.
Thanks

Something must be up with that bottom stamp. It is hard to believe that there can be that amount of variability in the production.

Hi to all
Has anyone checked to see if the stamps were printed in different gift wrappings?
Regards

Apologies, I took it, that the bottom image
was from a magazine.
If both are stamps, then you have a real oddity
worth following up.

Yes, we have here a new interesting item.

The change color maybe produced by water, but I donīt think so.

Maybe it appears in one catalogue with more explanation.

Regards.

Wow.
That suggests the top stamp is missing green?

Pics taken off eBay au.
Tree and present pair from the $11.00 booklet and then singles from the sheeltlets. Both seem to be different stamps to me, colour-wise.

Rod222, comparing Triggersmob's images to pictures in the Nov'- Dec'(Aust' Post) Stamp Bulletin, the top stamp appears to be the correct issue.

The water activated, lick and stick stamps from the Christmas Pack seem to be OK with the red or yellow colours(?) holding.

Well I think Finches has confirmed, that my stamp is not an oddity.
It seems the green present and the lack of red is normal for this sheet of 10. In the stamp bulletin this sheet of 10 looks more like the other stamp.

As Puzzler has shown, there is definitely two different types of stamp.

Thanks guys.

Steve

Full 2011 55c X-mas Booklet pane. Collectors should have both 55c Star & Wrapped Box varieties - distinct colour variation.
