Hello everyone!
I recently found a specialized book with this title: "The Pence Issues Of Newfoundland 1857-1866". I collect Canadian provincial issues and I wonder if that would be a great investment for a collector like me.

I saw that there's a lot of pages and I also wonder if someone could tell me if there's a lot of information and details or if I could only just check in the catalogue Scott and that would be almost the same thing. I found it for a good price (38$ CAD shipping and taxes included) and I have looked at other places on internet and I haven't found the same book for a better price.

So, is that a good investment for a Canadian provinces issues collector? Questions welcome.

Thanks,

CS

You can buy it from the publisher (www.greenefoundation.ca) for $15 plus postage, yes it is a good reference if you are interested in that subject.

yes it is a good book for that era of stamps.

Have you looked at the NSSC 2025 catalog. I there is far more information and up to date. I have found some of the information is inaccurate in the Pratt book.

There is a complete section regarding the "PENCE ISSUES" in the catalog.
It's kind of expensive, BUT the up to date information is worth it.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks, Bobby de la rue! I already bought the Pratt's book, but maybe, if I see that the information are sometimes not enough accurate, I'll buy the other book too!
