Is this Eisenhower 8c stamp a miscut? I purchased some stamps in an estate sale, and found a number of interesting items, and this is one. Poor President Eisenhower seems to have had his head shaved. I did shoot this against a black background. The black at the top is from the background. The stamp is cut just like it looks.

If you want to see the stamp book cover, let me know. Happy to take a quick pic and edit it.

Is this as interesting to the EFO community as it is to me?

thanks
kywhisky

Yes, they are indeed mis-cut. As a matter of fact, the "normal pair" is also mis-cut, but just slightly
They probably do not bring much more than a normal pair in my opinion

Yes, it is a miscut variety, but very, very minor. I'd keep it in my collection as an oddity, but really wouldn't give it any increase in value. Keep them coming.

It's a very minor miscut, indeed.
Booklet collectors usually go for miscuts like these:

Thank you for the encouragement. Absolutely a keeper for the collection. I did not think about booklet collectors. thanks for that as well. If I was not clear, this is in a booklet. See attached cover pic.

Also, the interest had me take a second look at the next page in the booklet. Same "hair cut", but it also seems some perforation errors on some of the stamps.

I think doubly interesting. What say you?

thanks

Some pins on the pin wheels of the perforator did not fully punch through the paper.
See this guy:

In a booklet with multiple panes, all panes should be miscut the same way. Usually the booklet cover is miscut in the same way as well so you can actually guess there might be something interesting when seeing a miscut cover.

To run with this tangent, here are 3 copies of the same booklet.
The cover of the top booklet is cut normally and has normal panes inside
The cover at the lower left is cut slightly low.
The cover at the lower right missed a cut and is quite a bit taller

Insde of the lower left booklet showing slight shift in cutting the panes. Not very exciting.

Inside of the lower right booklet showing panes with margins which should have been trimmed. Quite eye-catching.
