I Need Some Advice From All You Kiloware Veterans

I've just finished organising my collections of Australia (1913-1999) and New Zealand (1855-1999) and I've started the long process of filling in all of the inevitable holes.

The majority of the spaces are from the 1960s-1990s and I've tried filling the holes by buying the individual stamps from dealers but I gather that this is by no means the most economical (or rewarding) solution. I need (and would be so grateful for) your advice as to whether kiloware would be a viable solution.

A) I'm worried about the time period kiloware stamps will come from - if it's post-2000 it isn't of use to me so is it possible to source pre-2000 kiloware?

B) It's only about 100 stamps I'm looking for each Australia and New Zealand so would it be economical to look for a select few amongst thousands, especially if I can't resell the ones I don't want?

C) Many years ago I remember doing a sort of 'kiloware-approvals' service where the company charged a set rate per stamp in a huge pile of them and you sent back the ones you didn't want and paid roughly 10p (13c I think?) for each one you kept; am I being naive or is this still a thing?

D) Is there a third solution other to buying from dealers and kiloware?

Sorry if this seems like a long list - I'd be so grateful for any help from anyone in any way.

Yes. Find yourself a stamp exchange partner with whom you can trade by wantlists.

If you need so few, why not try listing your wants here? If you needed more, the approach might be to pick up a modern single-country collection. Kiloware is just going to give you a mountain of stuff with no guarantee you'll find any of your wants - individual purchases from dealers, or perhaps dealers' approval books for Aus/NZ would be a better bet than that.

Nobody has mentioned attending stamp shows in your local area. Sometimes you can find "exactly what you are looking for" at them. And for a nominal price as well.
