AC Roessler was infamous for his covers particularly first flights in the 20s and 30s. He was fond of zeppelins and made many cachets. He was upset that the US had not printed a special stamp so he faked a precancel/overprint that he used on covers. The Post Office tried for forgery and sentenced him to 3 years in prison which was later turned to parole.

He also made an Akron Mail precancel that he used on American airship flights.
