I use a 104gsm 32# bond paper because I print a lot pages and thicker paper would even more binders. It is listed as acid free (for what that is worth). I mount everything in mounts (glassine is paper too!) and detest hinges.

People need to decide what is more important to them (cost, feel, look,archival properties, etc).
