The guys around here who hunt snapping turtles would make a nice soup out of them ! Two years ago we took a cruise out of Tampa and spent a day in the Cayman islands...there was a turtle farm and accross the road a canning factory...and one of the tourists wanted to know why they raised turtles..i think the question was ignored !

Ahhh...Turtles and turtle soup. Brings back memories of 'noodling' for snapping turles in the Fox River up in Illinois. My favorite dish was just pan-fried turtle. Yup... like chicken, almost.

Yes parts of the snapper can taste like chicken..it does not have a fish taste and like chicken it has light and dark meat..the soup has a heartier taste than chicken soup..i think if they did not know what it was..many people would really enjoy it !!
