Egypt issued a stamp on the Khedivial Astronomical Observatory in Helwan. It was originally built in 1903-04 to observe Halley's Comet. Scott 1096, issued on December 30, 1978.

Estonia issued two stamps on the Tartu Observatory in Toravere. This observatory building was completed in 1810. Scott numbers 108 and 110, issued on June 1, 1930.

Finland issued a stamp on an observatory. Scott 696, issued on September 12, 1984.

France issued a stamp on the Pic Du Midi observatory, which is located in the French Pyrenees. The observatory was built in 1908, and is known for debunking the Martian canal theory in 1909.

France issued a stamp on the Haute Provence Observatory, which is located in southeastern France. It was established in 1937, and houses four main telescopes. Scott number 1281, issued June 20, 1970.

France issued a stamp on the Nancay Radio Telescope, a two hour drive south of Paris. It started observations in 1965. Scott 1067, issued June 8, 1963.

Germany (Berlin) issued a stamp on a planetarium and observatory. Scott number 9N232, issued in 1966.

East Germany issued a stamp of a Zeiss telescope with a drawing of the Andromeda galaxy (M31) and two of its companions (M32 and M110). Scott number 898, issued March 2, 1967.

Great Britain issued a stamp on the sesquicentennial of the Royal Astronomical Society. The telescope depicted on the stamp is Hershel's 40 foot scope that had a mirror diameter of 47 inches and was built from 1785-1789. It was dismantled in 1840. Scott number 616, issued April 1, 1970.

Greece issued a stamp on the opening of the Evghenides Planetarium in Athens. The stamp depicts Hipparchus and an astrolabe . Scott number 835, issued on October 21, 1965.
