Dunno... you tell us. Would seem that Lincoln is well represented. Washington. I would have thought more. But don't feel as the topic ever really "took off" either. |

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a young Abraham Lincoln, designed by Pierre Gandon, engraved by Charles-Paul Dufresne, and issued by Monaco on April 3, 1956 as one (as is also the George Washington stamp posted above by AnthonyUK) of a set of nine stamps publicizing the 5th International Philatelic Exhibition (FIPEX) held in New York City, April 28-May 6, 1956, Scott No. 356. - nethryk |

Here is an image of a stamp depicting a profile of George Washington, the American eagle and shield, and the Irish harp, designed by Irish artist and engraver George Atkinson (1880-1941), printed by typography, and issued by Ireland on March 1, 1939 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the inauguration of the US constitution, Scott No. 103. - nethryk |

Monaco George making an unexpected visit to Australia on a US cover. Stamp collectors love to kid around. |

Marius, that's quite an odd selection of 20th century faces on those Gambia stamps. I wonder what the criteria was for selection. And notice that only JFK and MM are facing each other. Hmmmm curious! |

Ecuador issued this in 1969 in memory of JFK, RFK and MLK. Even though it's a terribly looking, poorly printed stamp, President Kennedy's features are easily recognizable. I guess it's the hair style. Scott 787 NB: Replaced missing image |
