Letterbote in the 15th century on a surcharge stamp of 1989.

This stamp is also a Wohlfahrtsmarke, donating -.30 cents to a charity.

This HAFNIA'87 miniature sheet undoubtedly also belongs in this thread, designed by Danish artist Mads Stage (1922-2004), combined engraved by Czeslaw Slania and offset, and issued by Denmark on September 4, 1986 to publicize the show, Scott No. 825, Facit Nos. 904-07.

Czeslaw Slania did some nice work. To collect all his stamps would make a nice, classic collection and probably worth something.

this one has to go up!

fifia - You are correct on both counts. In fact, I happen to own examples of many of Czeslaw Slania's 1,000+ stamps. For well over a decade I was a member of the (now defunct) Czeslaw Slania Study Group, an international "coterie" of about 500 admiring collectors. - nethryk

On the Danish SS sheet I believe the only engraved portion is the
red lettering whereas it was originally intended to have the
black outlines engraved and offset to fill in the colours.

A 15th Century mailman. There wasn't much mail sent in those
days since the majority of the people were illiterate even many
nobles and some kings.
