I have a mint set of the 1867 Roman States imperforates. I believe they are reprints but the colors are so striking and the clarity of the print so fine that I wanted to post them and get some thoughts from members. I will post one at a time for the highest quality image.

Sorry about that. I'm new and didn't realize that was how it was done. For the image I have of all the stamps together I was not able to zoom in enough for a good look. So I went one at a time instead. Next time it will be different.

Ah yes, I see now how I pushed all the other posts out of the lists below. Sorry.

That's ok. But you can still edit this post. You can upload several pictures, it is not obligated at all to have only one image. And welcome to the forum!

* * * Multiple topics with same name were deleted * * *

Please post similar items in the SAME topic so that we can view and answer your questions. If you have a completely different stamp with a different question, then you can start a new topic on that series.

Since I have deleted the others with the same topic name, you can add them to THIS topic to get a good answer. You may want to number them (1, 2, 3, etc.) to help differentiate and get an answer to each one.

Glad to have you as a member of this community.

This issue is notorious for being reprints, and I think that all of yours qualify. However, I await other input from our members.

They all look like reprints to me as well, but I haven't gotten deep into the Italian States yet.

Yes, I am pretty sure they are reprints, too. What motivated me to post them was that I haven't been able to match the color with examples of known reprints from some of the resources online I have been introduced to since joining this club. That and their condition.

Sorry to say all your stamps are modern day forgeries ,these above are poor quality stamps which experts would not have a hard time to I.D. them . If you would like to see originals and the reprints that were made over 100 years ago ,which can fool all but a few experts of Roman States . I do have a collection that expands way past anything online .

Absolutely! I'd love to see a collection that tells the whole story! Where do I sign up?

And, by the way, when you say the stamps above are "modern forgeries", what time frame are you suggesting? Twentieth century? Early? Late? My understanding is that most forgeries (but not all) do not have the 13.25 perforation which these have.

First --the early forgeries were reprints from original dies . The colors and paper are different , also let me show you a original and you can see the differences .

The original group look like the reprints that were plentiful back in the 60's. Bright colors and very glossy.
