All covers in my collection that were sent from DDR to Australia have same transition and arrival postmarks on the back, except the date of course. From now, I will not show the back of them, unless there are extra franking, special postmarks and / or Cinderella labels.

Weimar is a city in the state of Thuringia, Germany. Many places in the city centre have been designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, either as part of the Classical Weimar complex, containing monuments to the classical period of Weimar in 18th and 19th centuries or the Bauhaus complex, containing buildings associated with the Bauhaus art school. Noted institutions in Weimar are the Bauhaus University, the Liszt School of Music, the Duchess Anna Amalia Library, and two leading courts of Thuringia, the Supreme Administrative Court and Constitutional Court.

The German Wars of Liberation (Befreiungskriege) were fought in 1813. Members of the Sixth Coalition, including the German states of Austria and Prussia, plus Russia and Sweden, fought a series of battles in Germany against the French Emperor Napoleon, his marshals, and the armies of the Confederation of the Rhine, an alliance of most of the other German states, which ended the domination of the First French Empire.

150th anniversary of the Wars of Liberation, issued on October 10, 1963. Stamps show German key figures of the wars and war scenes:

29-8-1953: Annual stamps advertising the Leipzig trade fair (Leipziger Messe), Michel 380XI-381XI.
On the back: 14-3-1053, 70th anniversary of the Death of Karl Marx, Michel 353XI, and 5-5-1953, 70th anniversary of the Death of Karl Marx, Michel 350YI.
Unfortunately, the sender was not to concerned with the quality of the stamps.
Although the cover states 'First Day of Issue' it was posted a day later, on the first day of the 1953 fair.

At the bottom right it reads "stamps on the reverse."

6-7-1953, 700th Anniversary of Frankfurt an der Oder, Michel 358XI-361XI

The four stamps have been cancelled on the day of issue. The cancellation between the four stamps is a different type and was applied 9 days after the issue date. It does raise the question whether these covers were issued cancelled but valid for postage.

Raising the flag of the USSR over the Reichstag is an iconic World War II photograph, taken by Yevgeny Khaldei during the Battle of Berlin on 2 May 1945. This photo became a symbol of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany.

The 30th anniversary of liberation, issued by the GDR on May 6, 1975:

As an exception, one ATM issued by Israel on May 9, 2005 to commemorate the 60th anniversary victory over Nazi Germany. Note how the designer hid the Soviet flag:
