Interesting! So the postage imprint was meant to pay the filing fee?

I managed to pick up quite a stack of postal stationery recently and once I get in a scanning mood I'll start posting. Here's one of my faves. I'm growing fond of these letter sheets and this one wasn't just the typical perforated type -- it has wings!

GregAlex, Michel lists this one as UB2, from 1894. There are two varieties, one with the footnote at bottom being 99 mm long (UB 2 I.), the other with the footnote being 97 1/4 mm long (UB 2 II.). And, the UB 2 II. can be found with or without a period after the footnote. Any of these are not rare.

A while back I posted a little cover used for Columbia river paqueboat service. I was lucky enough to find a couple more of these. I don't have any idea of value but they are just neat pieces.

Japan, 1955.

Both cards have identical firefly indicia, but on the backs are different animal caricatures from the first scroll of Chôjû-jinbutsu-giga, a set of picture scrolls from the 12th to 13th centuries, sometimes credited as Japan's oldest manga.
