World Postal Stationery, Part 2

The "Any Interest in World Postal Stationery?" Thread/'Topic has been locked, so here is an attempt to continue the topic with new postings.

The New Zealand KEVII postal card of December 13, 1907 shown here was used on March 3, 1913 from the Commanding Captain of the Marton Senior Cadets to Pte. H. Nafel (senior cadets) in neighboring Bulls, NZ. Manuscript "not known in Bulls" is written above the addressee, and the card was returned to Marton by the Wanganui p.o. Return date is April 14, 1913.

Card tells cadets that there will be parades at Bulls (pop. 1500) Town Hall on March 5th and March 19th. "Absentees are liable to a fine".

My net search showed no military school or academy in little Marton (pop 5000), but subsequently, I was educated at the NZ government history site.

Here is a registered letter postal stationery envelope mailed from a stamp dealer in London, England to Norfolk, Virginia, USA. Inscription around KGVI stamp indicum reads, "registration three pence, postage two pence halfpenny." Information on back of envelope describes compensation for loss or damage.

Letter was mailed on June 26, 1945. It was received by New York, NY registry division on July 11. Then it arrived in Baltimore, Md. where it was assessed a 10c fee by US Customs...which was subsequently scratched out, and a Passed Free U.S. Customs marking applied. Finally, the item arrived at Norfolk, Va. (backstamp) on July 13.

The b & w pic shows the London W. 74 P.O. on Bedford Street.

Here are two postal cards from the DDR's series of seven issued on October 7, 1950. Michel's description says, "Postcards with local views on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the founding of the DDR. Top left picture, bottom left three-line sender's note, beige-colored stock."

First card (Mi P47/03) shows an old picture of the Leipzig Fair. Curiously, the second card (Mi P47/02) shows Hamburg (German Federal Republic) harbor. Propaganda statement says, "Hamburg, the gateway to a unified democratic Germany."

1921 uprated 20c. Columbus postal envelope send via registered mail from Costa Rica to Chile.

The last is a 6 ore uprated postal card from Sweden -- can anyone supply the year for this one?

GregAlex, Michel gives a date of August 1, 1885 for the interestingly overprinted Swedish official postal card.

Actually, as I look at it now, the 5 ore blue circle seems to be the overprint, doesn't it? So it's actually down-rated. Is that what the catalog says?

On 1/1/1885 inland rate was reduced from 6 öre to 5 öre.
