Almost 39 years ago, ordered a kiloware world collection of stamps from UK and some rather weird sheets came in with hundreds of loose stamps. Not sure who collects these and what they are worth. This will probably appeal to thematic collectors...

There was a typo, should be almost 30 years ago.

You have a typo, should read CARN LAR CARN IAR
(I have never come across these in 15 years of collecting)
Thanks for posting

It's actually Carn Iar. It's a local (at best), from the same folks who put out the Summer Isles stamps in Scotland. The set of 6 birds is apparently still available directly from them! Derive your own conclusions from this. Retail per set is something around 4 pounds (the usual crowd will point out the eBay store that offers them at 1.50 pounds -- the seller wants 2.25 pounds shipping). I've seen these around rarely but never on cover or even FDC. Anyone got one?

The Lundy stamp is also a local, and this is the lowest value of a larger set. Minimal value per stamp here. Lundy Island was another very prolific issuer of local stamps. http://www.silverdalen.se/stamps/lu...undy_cat.htm

Actually, it's CĀRN IAR, not CARN LAR. That's a capital I, not a lowercase L. See https://gd.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%E0rn_Iar

I'd never heard of Cārn Iar, either, though I do have some Lundy puffin stamps.

EDIT: hy-brasil's post beat me by a minute!

So I was right with the capital 'i' after all.

Your thread title showed a lower case i

...and indeed, I was incorrect, and stand corrected.
I feel that will not be my last time, either.

Thanks for the corrections.

Well, the original thread title also misses the space between the two words, which I found would have made a Google search easy.

Will probably just keep these sheets in my collection, not really easy to come by these sheets, don't see anyone selling on eBay as well.
