It's only been a week. It's the summer. People are busy. If you're worried about getting a decent price, either run your item(s) as fixed price or start them at a price you're willing to accept.

You've done nothing but been skeptical since the beginning of this thread... give things a chance.

Waiting until a few seconds before an auction closes and then bidding.

It's also the way sales used to be handled here as well. Things were fairly lively. It will take some time to regain momentum.

Both the stamp and coin forum went to the custom coded style because the users wanted feedback. Once converted they were hardly used and both have now been switched back.

Actually it's not like the way it was before. Until someone upset the system in 2013?/2014? [I don't think the 'someone' is here anymore] the selling idea here on SCF was second to none. Along with the banter [which was encouraged], it made for some lively sales. We could list a number of sales in one thread and it always brings back such fond memories for me.
During 2012 when I was given a small but classical collection to dispose of including some great CW, Penny Blacks and Blues and I sold the lot here on threads such as the one I just described. Everyone got a bargain. Books and catalogues too.
Of all the memories I have of living in a forum world for seemingly an eternity, this one was the best and will stay with me forever.
I was very grateful to Bobby for the chance to sell that way, for the great atmosphere at that time and I will always be grateful to him.
Great times.
We even had our own Feedback thread. Get your hankies out and have a good read here:

No, the sales arena is not the same but times change and we move on.

You right on one thing though, it was VERY lively !

I thought so, but wasn't sure. I hate it when it happens to me, but I do it too.

While the feedback topic may have been heartwarming I can all but guaranty it did not really serve the real purpose of feedback. I'd bet hardly anyone ever was thinking about buying something and went to that topic to search for feedback for the seller first.

Instead of complaining publicly, why not offer some items yourself?

This is the very type of thing that could prompt our host to simply shut down sales entirely: perpetual bellyaching.

I don't believe I am complaining. I would offer items, like I did under the $$$ system. But I am not familiar with this format. I have been waiting for some items to be posted so I can get a feel for how it works. I asked for a link to some old items but NADA. Instead of giving me BS, why don't YOU post something??? I least I have a record of using the $$$ system. Other than one item which no one followed up on, I have no examples to use for listing items. Thanks for your input, revenuecollector.

1. No one can give you links because archived posts from that old sales portion of the forum no longer exist (at least not publicly).

2. BS? Why don't I post something to sell for you? Since when am I obligated to cater to your every whim? You've done nothing but poohpooh the notion of this new format since it was announced, despite being told that summer is ALWAYS a slow sales time and that it would pick up at some point. You're just being impatient.

Read the guidelines. Post something. Look at Londonbus's example.

Description
Image(s)
Format (auction or fixed price) and closing date.
Payment methods accepted
Shipping costs and where you are willing to ship.
Return period or lack thereof.

It's not rocket science.

If you happen to misstep re: terms and conditions, someone will let you know.

I have a set for sale, Early Australia Navigators,. How can I lower the price? I see no way to edit. Do I end the sale and relist?
