Margit Kovács (1902 - 1977) was a Hungarian ceramist and sculptor. The stamp set features his two women figures and the plaque at the entrance to the Margit Kovács Museum in Szentendre.

Potter, designed and engraved by French artist Georges Bétemps (1921-1992), and issued by Chad on February 5, 1964 as one of a set of four stamps depicting artisans, Scott No. 96.

Cmielów is a town in Ostrowiec County, southeastern Poland. It is known for one of Poland's oldest porcelain factories dating back to 1790.
The stamp set features a platter (1870-1887), a plate (1887-1890), a cup with saucer (1887), a figurine (1941-1944), a candy box (1930-1990), and a vase (1979).

The Wari were a Middle Horizon civilization that flourished in the south-central Andes and coastal area of modern-day Peru, from about 500 to 1000 A.D. The stamp set shows three pottery pieces: a water jar, an llama, and a painted vase.
