This August 15, 1957 15 paise issue of India commemorates the centenary of the Indian Mutiny in their struggle for independence. The stamp (Sc #289) depicts a mounted Laksmibai, Rani of Jhansi.

From Wikipedia, "Laksmibai, the Rani of Jhansi, was an Indian queen of the Maratha princely state of Jhansi in North India...She was one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and became a symbol of resistance to the British Raj for Indian independence."

The .20 Bs value (Sc #C50) of Bolivia's 1948 set of seven airmail stamps publicizing the country's 2nd National Sports Congress depicts an equestrian event.

On February 18, 1988 Berlin issued this stamp (Mi. #805) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of sculptor Renee Sintenis (1888-1965). Sintenis mainly sculpted animals such as horses, dogs, and elephants, in addition to human figures. Depicted is her bonded bronze piece Large Thoroughbred Foal.

Here is the 3c value (Sc #368) from Paraguay's January 1, 1940 set of eight pictorial stamps publicizing the 2nd Buenos Aires (Chaco) Peace Conference. Vaqueros/cowboys are depicted.

This May 7, 1963 stamp (Sc #906) of Portugal features a mail coach. It commemorates the centenary of the Paris Postal Conference of 1863.

On June 1, 1994 The Netherlands issued this 80c stamp to publicize the 2nd FEI World Equestrian Games which were held in The Hague from July 27 to August 7.

This 80c Dutch stamp (Sc #816) was issued on February 16, 1993 to commemorate the bicentennial of the Royal Netherlands Artillery Corps.

From Wikipedia, " The artillery of the Royal Netherlands Army...is divided into three corps, undertaking two roles: field artillery and horse (mobile) artillery."

On July 6, 1984 Transkei issued most of the stamps of its 2nd definitive series (Xhosa culture) of 1984-91, including this 2c value inscribed "horsemen". The stamp depicts mounted Xhosa tribesmen who are traditionally involved with cattle and/or sheep farming.

Transkei was a homeland, or Bantustan created by the apartheid policies of the South African government. It was set aside/reserved for black South Africans of Xhosa descent.

Here is the 4.00 escudo value (Sc #1187) from Portugal's November 7, 1973 set of three stamps commemorating the centenary of the public transport system of Porto, or Oporto. An old horse-drawn tram is shown.

This June 9, 2001 stamp (Sc #1849) of Belgium depicting a mounted, 16th century postman is from a set of five issued for the Belgica 2001 Stamp Exhibition.

Here is Finland's March 11, 1994 Red Cross charity set (Facit #s 1245-7) paying homage to Finnish horses.

2.00 + 0.40 Mk plough horse

Stuttgart, Germany's "Privat-Stadtpost" (Private City Courier Service) was founded on November 11, 1886 and operated until March 31, 1900 when all German private couriers were forced to cease operations.

This Privat-Stadtpost 2 pf stamp (Mi #12a) of 1890 depicts the rearing stallion from Stuttgart's coat of arms.

This August 4, 1976, 7c + 1c Health stamp (SG #1125) of New Zealand depicts a young person and a colt or filly which Stanley Gibbons New Zealand Concise catalog calls a "pony".
