On April 3, 1998 Austria issued this 6.50 schilling stamp (Mi #2248) as a part of its "Folk Customs" series. It depicts a Viennese horse-drawn cab. The familiar "Wiener Riesenrad" (Ferris wheel), built in 1897, can be seen in the background. The "fish-kabob" vendor is coming our way.

This August 6, 2009, 44c stamp (Sc #4239) of the USA depicts the flag of the state of Kentucky and three horses. It is a self-adhesive coil stamp from the Flags of Our Nation series.

Denmark's September 3, 1998 set of 2 "Europa XXIV" stamps used the theme of national festivals. The low value 3.75 kr stamp (Facit #1215) from this set depicts a horse on display at an agricultural fair.

Here is the 15 kr value (Facit #512) from Iceland's May 23, 1973 set of 5 stamps commemorating the centenary of the country's first adhesive postage stamps. Borders and stamp images are printed by color offset, and central vignettes are steel-engraved recess printed.

Vignette depicts "pony train" or mail transport by horse.

On October 20, 1959 the USSR issued this 20 kopek stamp (Sc #2214) depicting Przewalski's horse (Equus przewalskii) as a part of its 1957-60 "Fauna of the USSR" series.

From wikipedia, "Przewalski's horse also called the takhi, Mongolian wild horse, or Dzungarian horse, is a wild and endangered horse native to the steppes of Central Asia."

On July 31, 2004 Lithuania issued a two-stamp set to publicize the country's participation in the Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Here is the low value 2 litas stamp (Sc #774) depicting an event in the modern pentathalon for riding.

An elf riding a horse is depicted on the 1.20 litas value (Sc #559) of Lithuania's November 30, 1996 Christmas set of two stamps.

On February 6, 1992 Germany issued a set of four semi-postal stamps to publicize its participation in the 1992 Summer and Winter Olympic Games. The 100 pf + 50 pf value (Mi #1594) depicts a dressage event.

"Dressage is a form of riding performed in exhibition and competition, as well as an art sometimes pursued solely for the sake of mastery" (wikipedia). It features a series of controlled movements performed by the horse. Dressage has been a part of the modern Olympic Games since 1912.

Here is the 85 ore value (Facit #726) from Norway's November 15, 1974 set of two stamps depicting folk art painting on furniture. Stamp depicts a horse and rider on an old chest.

This January 12, 1990, 60 pf stamp (Mi #861) of Berlin commemorates the 250th anniversary of public transportation in the city. An 18th century horse-drawn coach is depicted.

Here is Berlin's February 8, 1983, 80 (pf) stamp commemorating the sesquicentennial of telegraph service between Berlin and Coblenz. Stamp depicts Imperial Prussian telegraph inspectors.
