This seems to be turning into an Eleanor and friends thread. Here's a souvenir sheet of the 1963 Eleanor Roosevelt stamp plus the designs that didn't make it. No real stamps on the sheet, but the entire thing is gummed.  |

About 20-30 years ago a stamp was issued in a west African state (Niger?) picturing Lady Diana shaking hands with Hillary Clinton in front of the official White House potratit of First Lady Frances Folsom Cleveland originally painted by Anders Zorn. I have not managed to find any image of the this stamp but perhaps a member here can find it. A problem may be that the stamp was issued by a state that issued so much stamps that some catalogs did not include them. If I remember correctly Linns Stamp News showed an image of the stamp. I guess that Frances Folsom Cleveland is one of the most difficult First Ladies to find on stamps. |
