I did a search on here to find reptile stamps, but didn't find too much on the thread. Anyone have stamps with snakes, reptiles or arachnids on them? I'd love to see a few. Thanks!

The Indian State of Gwalior never showed snakes on its stamps, but it did on its postal stationary envelopes

postcards

and even many of its postmarks

and Registration labels

It all harks back to the legend that the founder of the ruling house of Gwalior was abandoned in the middle of a field in the hot Indian sun as a baby. Two cobras, recognising the child's future greatness, sat beside the baby and spread their hoods to shield it, until it was rescued.

eilasheppard - There is an old reptiles/amphibians/dinosaurs thread here: http://goscf.com/t/23

However, there are only a dozen or so reptile stamps posted on that thread, so here is an image of one of my best reptile stamps, just for you.

Here's my Solomon Islands skinks

These were issued in 2005. Usually i'm not fond of reptiles but I think these are quite cute.
