I really had to do some digging to find this information, so tell me if I'm correct - You are asking about the Bruce Brunell pre-cancel catalogue for Wyoming? It appears there are publishers of pre-cancel catalogues for nearly every state?!?

That's a lot of catalogues!

The Brunell I am using is his complete Printed Precancel catalog for all states on CD. It lists just about all the known Printed Precancels (as opposed to Hand Stamps, and excluding the Bureau of Engraving and Printing stamps) for every state. It's fantastic, but he didn't include a glossary of his abbreviations, so there are some that are very opaque. Thanks to chasa, I now know, for example, that:

1965 8p is the 8c General Pershing 1042A which appears in my catalog as 1954-1968, so I didn't connect the dots myself.

Also "f" usually refers to a stamp with a Flag on it e.g. 6f = 1338 and 8f = 1338F

8g = the Giori Press 8c Liberty stamp 1042 - no mention of Giori in my catalog, so I would never have worked this out without chasa.

etc

Brunell usually uses a letter which corresponds to part of the stamp's description: e for Einstein, j for Jackson, etc., so some of them I can decipher.

But sometimes the name in the catalog is different from what Brunell calls the stamp e.g. 8u in my catalog is "Postal Service Emblem" and I just didn't connect that to a "u" for USPS.

JFYI!

Yes, there are even more detailed catalogs for states, but they can be hard to obtain unless like chasa's own catalog (Alabama) the experts have been generous enough to make their work available for FREE via download.
