Japanese Revenue Help Again Please

Hello, Does anyone have any idea of what these were used for or possibly a catalog number?

It appears that two of these did not enlarge. I will try to get larger scans of them.

No idea of catalogue numbers or values, but the first is a revenue specifically for securities (stocks etc); the other two appear to be general revenues. The last is a 5 Sen value.

Effigie de vieillard is 'effigy of an old man'. How one relates that to stamps is beyond me.

the bottom left is the list I am guessing
your brwon-red 5 sen issue belongs (1876),
these revenues I have not seen much of,
albeit I don't go looking for them,
The design looks more modern than 1876 which raiises doubts.
also an image of the violet? purple? issue.

Check if your lower stamp is either
perf 10 or 13, if not, then those stamps are not listed.

Hi rod222, It is a perf 13. What is it that makes it look more modern? Is it the cancel or the overall look of it.

No reason other than a "hunch", David
The early Japanese brothers and sisters
in the "postage" family were ovals and circles,
it wasn't until 1913, designers went for the scroll effect,
and this is what your example looks like to me.



Not based on anything but "feeling"
so just disregard it
