Heres Hong Kong photo postcard I picked up today..loading coal on a passenger ship one basket at a time ! the ship was the Dakota and it sank shortly thereafter !! I am going to put her out on eBay !
thanks Nigel, the message portion reads "the Dakota coaling at Nagasaki,Japan before she sank..Coaling is done by Jap women by way of small baskets..their pay is 20 cents per day in American money !"
