There has been some discussion here about Canada precancels. I love them. I made my own simple album using the standard catalog for organization. When I first started collecting Canada precancels I decided to ignore the doubles and other multiples - and just collect the normal and invert varieties. I am very happy with this decision. The multiples are almost all high-priced and even a fine collection looks sparse when they are included.
The Robert A Lee album [1993] is quite nice, but because it includes all the multiple varieties, I decided not to use it. On this example page, I do not own the Brandon 1-MR4-I [cataloging 150$]. Also you can see where I have added the die-2 1-cent variety [1-105d] that was added to the latest 6th ed of the catalog. I didn't have the 1-cent and 3-cent die varieties on my original layout.

Not to everybody's taste, but I just love the simple
quadrille page and handwritten notes.
That's how I like it.

A bit sparse with information on the set up though
for a beginner like myself, it would be nice to see some notes
on page as to what catalogue /reference and sequence was used.
and what I always like is a list of appropriate
bibliography concerning the topic.

I like it, I like it.

They look nice arranged by colour like that, with the yellow before the green.

Is that quadrille pattern your own?

The pages are Scotts blank quadrile, National style. When I did the layout, I used about a 1983 version of the Canada precancel catalog. At that time they split the Admiral issues up with the original colors - 104,106,108 etc listed first and the 105,107,109 etc listed as a second group. It is not in Scotts order so sometimes difficult to follow.

chasa, nice Canadian page. How does the diversity in Canadian precancels compare to the (nearly) endless variety of U.S.?

There are about 4000 different Canada precancels - they fit in one binder. This contrasts with the estimated 2 million different US precancel denominations [I have almost 30,000 Alabama alone and that is a smaller state].
