Mcgeesorg, have you stripped out the roll yet? If you haven't done it completely yet, each roll of 500 should have two places where the backnumber falls on the stamp with the platenumber. These are very sought after by some PNC collectors!

Just received new 1st quarter 2016 Philatelic magazine today. On page 29, strip of 500 10˘ Pears are shown for $25.00. I wonder if they'll honor that price ( error by the way )?

Only if the error is in their favor.

Does anyone know if SFS are offering strips of the forthcoming USA Nonprofit stamp being released later this month and, if so, what the SKU will be?

They will be offering 500-stamp strips of the 5-cent nonprofit issue but I do not know the SKU.

Maybe this helps. Complete roll #781900. Roll of 500 #781915. FDC #781916.

Peter ... are you certain. By my notes, 781915 is for a strip of 500 grapes while 781900 is for a 10K roll of grapes. A complete roll of 10K of the nonprofit coils is 777500. If I were to hazard a guess, I would try 777515 as the correct SKU.

Has anyone gotten examples of the 5c grapres with the back number well behaved? By that I mean the entire back number is behind the stamp, and not one digit hanging off in the space between stamps.

I certainly didn't for Pears. They were all as you described — partially hanging off.

The back numbers on my grapes are not well-centered ... but they are entirely on the back of a single stamp. My pears, on the other hand, had the back numbers situated vertically on the edge of a stamp.

The new USA Nonprofit stamp (with a face value of 5˘) was released today.

I just got off the phone with the USPS and was able to extract the SKUs for the strips cut from the rolls of 10,000 by Stamp Fulfillment Services. So, in case you want to prepare FDCs, but not prepare ten thousand of them, here are the SKUs:

  • Strip of 25: #777503 ($1.25)

  • Strip of 500: #781915 ($25.00) Edit 2016-04-29: THIS IS INCORRECT. See corrections in discussion below.

As usual, these can only be ordered by phone, by item number. They are not available on the website. The phone number is (or, more usefully, 1-800-782-6724).

By the way, I confirmed with Celia Rodriguez at Cancellation Services that the 5˘ counts towards the First-Class Letter Rate postage required on your cover (i.e., you technically only need to add 42˘ more if you use one Nonprofit Stamp).

Hope this helps!

Again, 781915 is for a strip of 500 grapes, not 500 of the new 5-cent non-profit coil. Try 777515 for the latter. Was not aware of the 25-stamp strip, so thanks for reporting that. Will try ordering a few of these in lieu of the 500.
Note that the first 4 digits of the SKU are generally the same for all items tied to a particular issue. So all of the new 5-cent coil strips should have SKUs beginning with 7775.
