I'm guessing the Romeo one is First National Bank of Romeo, Mich, just based on the positioning of the words.

What is so important about Feb 8, 1875? The cancel is clearly not December 8, which was very important to some people.

The second one appears to be W.M. Co in Chicago.

I checked, there are several companies in Chicago with the initials W.M. Co. If you weant to find out more, Google the initials!

I was assuming what revenuecollector meant on his website about a very important date was the enormous size of the cancel.

1typesetter, I don't think you erred. I think this is just one of those hiccups that sometimes occur in online communication.

The wink emoticon at the end of my comment there was meant to imply humor or facetiousness, not fact. The vast majority of cancels don't have the date printed that large.
