Same seller, under different name. This seller is consistently able to sell under $10 face value of common material (which hardly even rates good for postage since it would consume entire envelope) for extraordinarily high prices. Check out this listing which is getting ready to sell for an amount the rest of us would never see for same material. Incredible.

It's called viral bidding infection where many bids and/or bidders attract even more bids and/or bidders. Ever notice some restaurants are always full with even lines and others are always empty with no one in them even though their food is better? People are usually curiously attracted to where the busy action is.

I wish that the people bidding on these stamps would contact me; I have a real nice bridge up north that is for sale. Very reasonably priced, too.

... I considered recording the images in the listing and seeing if the same plate blocks are being offered over and over across a period of time and/or under another name ...

For what he's paying, and what he's getting, he can throw away the plate blocks each time ... the Real Work is in the scanning.

At these volumes?

Or, their mothers taught them that - especially when you're travelling - the safest place to eat is the busiest place on the block.

It could be some buyers just go to the seller rather than wade through the other offers. I have been following us plates and saw a 4 volume collection go for $400. I do see lots going for around face but smaller lots do seem to get more than face at times but then some lots go unsold.

The seller must be taking a break; no new items for sale. I would be wary of buying stamps on Ebay without a picture of the item.

I dont seem to have any problem buying plate blocks on ebay for about 60-70% so I wouldnt be buying much higher and the lots I bid on and lose dont go for alot more so he up to something sneaky.

A couple of sayings come to mind:

"One Born Every Minute" - P.T. Barnum

and

"Presentation Is Everything" - Jayne Mansfield

Either the buyer is a fool or has clients who are greater fools for the few "Jumbo" and "Superb 100" singles in those blocks.

Fools or not, there are more harmful ways to spend your money.

Presentation is everything and if the person has a little money how much more is it really costing him on a $40.00 lot? The amount of money some of us waste on junk food and drinks is such a waste.

Looks like his sales are from 2014-15. I don't see anything current for sale by him on Ebay. He must have worked for the Post Office or collected plate blocks when they came out.
