Every collector is different, and therefore every collection is different. It always amazed by the variability I see in different stamps collections, from neat specialized albums, to rooms full of boxes with unsorted stamps.

So, I ask you, are you a space filler with a very specific and narrow collecting style, or are you a hoarder that will buy anything and everything that catches your eye, regardless of country, age, topic etc.?

A worldwide collector is the opposite of a narrow, specialist collector. Either can be hoarders, although the former will inevitably amass greater volumes of material.

I'd have to say I'm a space filler. I like things to be sorted out and in good order so I couldn't be a hoarder.

A space filling hoarder. Since I print my own pages and alter them to fit my collection, I dictate the number of spaces. When a page gets "full", I can add some more depth and redesign the page. Voila!....more spaces to fill.

Space filler for each one of my collections. I keep excel sheets tracking what I have as well as what I want (note not need). Get home from a show and before I let myself buy anything else, I mount my new additions.

I have to go with rodgcam. I've got lots of stuff sorted neatly and everything in its place. And then there are the boxes of stuff still to go through. Occasionally, it is a little of both, like the two boxes with 800+ Linto WWII covers, neatly arranged according to type and date.

I am a hoarder of very specific and limited areas. If I already have one, and I see more of them, I hope to find some varieties in their somewhere. The ones I don't want? I have giveaways here on SCF.

I'm a space filler with an occasional tendency to hoard. I set specific goals for myself to complete sets, series, pages, etc. When I eventually reach those goals (except for the high-ticket items that I wait to fill), I move on to new goals. If some opportunity presents itself where I can acquire other stamps that I'm interested in, but not actually pursuing I'll buy them. I have many stamps and albums that were just too good to pass up.

I love filling empty spaces in my albums, but am rarely satisfied with just that. And while I have stock books filled with things that catch my eye, I tend to obsess over certain issues - like (US) 1869 pictorials. Why do I have nearly 500 3c train stamps (114), or 3 dozen 10c eagle & shield stamps(116)? Because I'm a hoarder, and am not ashamed of it!
