I think the two Penny Reds with plate numbers come from the same item and, both, are plate 143.

As for the value: 0. Condition is everything and your stamps are in very poor condition.
The two other "Penny Red Stars" will only have value if they are from a rare plate or have a rare variety (very low probability). Again, their condition is poor to very poor.

The HJ stamp has a London cancellation. The BH may be 783, that is Tenbury, but that last digit is unclear. The two with plate numbers have the 258 of Dover.

Both the stamps with letters in all four corners have the same plate number. It could be 143, but it might be 140. The longer I look at them, the more I am thinking it is 140.

Agree with NSK. From your pictures, stamps 2 and 3, the ones with letters in all 4 corners, are probably plate 143 by my eyes, but could be 140 also. I don't think there is any values difference, in any case.

Thanks for info it's appreciated, now I am going to see what else is in the package, it's interesting looking for all the hidden meaning, who would have thought the humble stamp has all this going on,

I vote for "3" - 143. In case anyone can't see the numbers, they are in the frame, directly above the red numbers.

CJD are you able to see the Plate Numbers of the 2 star ones please? I have tried everything but my eyes just aren't up to this sort of detail I
guess which is a shame.

The plate numbers are not included in the design on the other two. Those have to be plated by comparison with known plates.

Hello, to me I see 1 of them is 143 and the other is 140, if you look closely and take the time to do so you'll see is a 140, that's my opinion anyway, that's what I see.

Yes, it's a very common 1942 Australian stamp - and it doesn't belong in a 1d red thread.
