I know that they're new to the online auction scene, and the one auction I sat through with them was a bit bumpy from a tech perspective, but they seem to be really REALLY disorganized.

There's been no publicity about this anywhere I've seen, but apparently they are having a public auction at Chicagopex this coming weekend, the first since Regency Superior folded... but we're a week out and the auction is still not posted on their website or on Stamp Auction Network.

I sent them an email almost a week ago inquiring about the auction lots, but no response.

What gives?

Small operation. The last sale (the september 2024 internet sale) came up with pretty short notice but it went fine and there was pretty spirited bidding at least in the areas I watched.

I don't have any specific info on the Chicagopex sale.

They're not exactly doing themselves (or their consignors) any favors IMO.

They did an equally poor job of publicizing their August APS auction.

Curious how the viewing of Kewriga's "now rescheduled to January 2025 sale" went at ChicagoPex -- and with specific regard to the "James Allen 3c 1851-57 Issue Large Gold collection" (all as promoted on Kewriga's website).

I do not recall ever seeing Jim's exhibit at any of the major shows I have attended over the years -- but as a specialist in the 1851 3c issue I am curious how extensive it is?

I live in California -- and with the TG holiday approaching was unable to attend the ChicagoPex show. Any comments from those who perhaps attended the show and viewed the offerings from the "James Allen 3c 1851-57 Issue Large Gold collection" are appreciated.

@ioafoa - not sure if you and others know this already, but there was no showing at Chicagopex. Kewriga was not there at all as far as I know. I was looking forward to viewing it. I keep checking Kewriga's website to see if they have posted anything more than the cover of the auction catalog. . .but nothing yet.

Phil - Was there another auction at the show or was Kewriga supposed to be it?

No auction at the show at all. Kewriga was a "no show" at their booth.

Hi Philazilla --

Thanks for the ChicagoPex update.

I too periodically check the Kewriga website to view the "James Allen 3c Gold Medal" sale material -- and I see that he (Kewriga) is also advertising an InterNet Auction for Dec. 14 -- just 9 days out -- and no catalogue for that one either. All very strange?

Regards // ioagoa

Strange cubed. Even if you are new to actually running auctions you know the most basic steps and Kewriga is no neophyte. Why on earth would you blow-off Chicopex and have no catalog on your website. I know how I would feel as a consignor. That is if I did not get my material returned to me.

I agree that he is no newby to stamps or the auction scene. As this is uncharacteristic behavior, I hope he is OK and nothing tragic has occurred.

What I meant by "uncharacteristic behavior" was not a judgement personally on his behavior, as I have no experience or history with him. It was meant as for any person in business, to not only be slow to advertise, but to be completely absent of any communication. I pray that he is not unwell.
