Yet another day, and more in the mailbox!

I had a really poor #73, so I acquired an upgrade. It's not the very best, but is so much better than what I had.

I also bid on a lot of MNH stamps. I took a chance because the pictures weren't very clear, but I could tell what the catalog numbers were. I guess I got a mixed bag as far as quality.

#233

#300

#330 (not a great example at all)

#348

#373 (not very good edges)

#428 (not the best)

#442

#496 (a single and a pair)

#504 (not the best, but it's my 2nd copy)

#548 (two of these in the lot, this is now my best copy)

#628 (five of these in the lot)

#723 (another duplicate, but maybe I will split it up since I don't have a single)

#RD319 (my first MNH revenue stamp)

The lot also included a couple plate blocks. Even though some of the stamps aren't great, I'm glad I took the risk because these fill some more spaces in my U.S. National.

Today, I received 109 supposedly all different Washington-Franklins. The majority are perforated, so not likely to have anything super expensive. It looks like all of the 50c and $1 stamps are included. Most of the 109 are used, except for #506, and #508-#517 which appear to be unused, but only have partial gum. The amount of gum varies. I'm going to have a bit of fun confirming identification and filling holes in my existing collection.

Bonus stamps included are #479 and #480.

I'll post page pictures when I'm done.

They can't all be good days. Today I received three different orders. One of them included stamps that were not as advertised. One was good. And the last was missing some of the items!

Here some that came that I needed:

Today, ATM from Papua-New Guinea, South Africa, Cuba, Belgium and Australia. Also a nice exchange of used stamps with an Iranian and another one from Germany.

Nothing rare, ATM are certainly not the nicest stamps (and those ones are Frama, so very bad looking) but they are too much neglected in my opinion.

The other normal stamps will fill some gaps or go for another exchange.

My missing MNH U.S. Air Mail stamps showed up today! It's not an expensive lot, C7 thru C24, less C12, the zeppelins, and C18. I couldn't afford these as MNH when I was 15 years old, so now they fill some empty MNH spaces in my Scott National.

Today I received a U.S. #97, #98, #150, and #152. The first two have well below average centering, but are otherwise not bad. Yesterday I received a #151 and I'm still waiting on a #96. All of these fill spaces on my U.S. International Part 1 journey.

Correction to above: That is not a #152. It is a #189. That'll teach me to post before absolute verification of certain items. What's good though is that I do have a real #152 that came in the mail yesterday. I was refunded a for a large percentage of the #189. It has a good home now as it is slightly better than the one I already had.

I bought a pre-populated 1947 Blue Book a few months ago and I'm trying to fill as many of the first country pages as possible. I'm also taking the liberty of adding some that are higher priced than the more common issues. These classics came today for France and Belgium.

Today I got the catalogue of japanese meter stamps. It was published in 2000, so it's not the most up to date, but it's still a valuable ressource… as long as you can translate it.

As I expect to get some meter stamps from Japan in the future (2 month… shipping is very slow) it would be quite handy.

Meter stamps are my new field of interest. There are some nice informations online (a complet international catalog) and lots of thing to search.

I more heavily collect pre-1900 European stamps, but every now and then if I see some nice pre-1900 stamps from other continents, I'll buy them. These beauties are the latest:

Not stamps, but ... Lusted after this for twenty years. Saw a decently priced copy of ebay and hit "buy it now". The best possible Christmas present to myself.

Some nice stamps, unfortunately cancelled by the marker monkey (or ballpoint baboon in this case).

I just received this card from a member of the postcrossing group. I am pretty sure it's a reproduction of a card issued in France in the early 1900s.
I just wanted to share it with everyone and hope that your postman brings you boxes and envelopes stuffed with stamps in the coming year.
I want to wish everyone good health and many adventures in 2025.
Happy holidays!
