The stamp for the letter J festures Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank. The steerable dish radio telescope, with a diameter of 76.2 m, was completed in 1957.

The Astronomical Observatory of Lisbon Polytechnic School was founded in 1875 and is the only remaining 19th-century educational observatory in Portugal. The stamp shows the observatory and its refracting telescope.

Sultan Maverannahr, grandson of Tamerlane, Ulugbek was an astronomer. The underground part of the main quadrant of the Ulugbek Observatory has been preserved.

Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) is an array of 66 radio telescopes in the Atacama Desert of northern Chile, which observe electromagnetic radiation at millimeter and submillimeter wavelengths. ALMA began scientific observations in 2011 and has been fully operational since March 2013.

BTA-6 Large Telescope is a 6-metre (20 ft) aperture optical telescope at the Special Astrophysical Observatory located in the Zelenchuksky District on the north side of the Caucasus Mountains in southern Russia. For a variety of reasons, BTA-6 has never been able to operate near its theoretical limits. Early problems with poorly fabricated mirror glass were addressed in 1978, improving but not eliminating the most serious issue

Ascension Island is an isolated volcanic island and is governed as part of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha. In ocasion of the return of Halley Comet, in 1986, was issued a set of 4 stamps celebrating this ephemerid. This stamp depicts a newtonian telescope, developed by sir Isaac Newton.

October 5, 1988
The Astronomical and Meteorological Observatory of Caracas was created in 1888. It later changed to Cagigal Observatory in honor of the astronomer and mathematician Colonel Juan Manuel Cagigal (1803-1856). One stamp in the set depicts Boulton cupola and night sky over the observatory.

100 years of the Greenwich Meridian

The set remember the 100 years of the oficialization of the Greenwich Meridian. . The 28p stamp shows an aerial view of the Real Observatory and the 31p shows the Airy's Transit Telescope. The position of the meridian was stablished by sir George Biddell Airy, in 1851.
