Odd Shaped Stamps. Be Cool, Don't Be A Square.

Hey folks I just saw this thread and MAN what a bunch of beautiful Irregulars. I really like those heart shaped Tonga's. I have some round Tonga's and also some Jordan's. Here are some of my Tonga's and I will have to scan the Jordan's in later on.

Very nice set Cimmarron. I had been waiting for you to show up as others said that you also like the odd ones. Have been going back and forth with laswabbie for awhile on these. Will enjoy your future posts.

Mac that's not my complete set. I also have some of those Tonga's that are revalued. I will try and get those scanned and also get my jordan's scanned in. I have a cople from Sierra Leone as well I will try to find.

That penquin is a beauty.....it would fit nicely in my two binders of Penquin covers and stamps..my favorite cover is about one of my heroes Ernest Shackleton who led the Endurance and other Antarctic expeditions..he was'nt perfect,nobody is..but he was a natural leader who brought his whole crew back alive after being stranded on the ice...and given up for lost or perhaps forgotten by many with the onset on World War 1. If you read the book Endurance..you will see we do not have it too bad today...i suppose a diet of nothing but penquin meat for a year and a half would kind of turn you off to the taste of it..better than nothing !!

how about the heart shaped stamps from France or the diamonds from the Nederlands...I really need to figure out how to upload pix...I keep following Tina's progress in hopes of figuring all of this out...You folks are great teachers and sharers!! What a nice place to come learn and relax

Vanuatu Post has created an official Post Office with a difference. It is the world's only Underwater Post Office.

Situated within the Hideaway Island marine sanctuary, the Post Office is staffed by Post Office personnel who completed their Open Water dive training at Hideaway Island.

As the bottom of the post office sits in around three metres of water both divers and snorkelers are able to post special "waterproof postcards". If snorkelers cannot duck-dive down that far, Hideaway Island staff will be on the spot to help out.

During opening hours the cards will be cancelled/embossed by the postal staff in the Underwater Post Office. Instead of being stamped with ink to show that the card has been sent, the Post office has developed a new embossed cancellation device.

Out of hours the post cards can be posted in the underwater post box attached to the post office or taken to the main post office in town. All are guaranteed to receive the special cancellation from this unique underwater paradise before being delivered both locally and internationally.

Placed on site by Vanuatu Post, this official and currently unique postal location was opened for business on Monday May 26, 2003. A special flag floats above the site when there are postal workers in the water.

This new Post Office recognises that the Republic of Vanuatu's is made up of 83 islands and is a marine paradise. The sea is such an important part of life in Vanuatu so in addition to opening the worlds first Underwater Post Office, Vanuatu Post has issued a new stamp issue and minisheet featuring snorkelling.
