United States King and Queen of Hearts May 8, 2009 The two se-tenant stamp designs, one showing the King and one showing the Queen, were created by using images from eighteenth-century French playing cards as a reference. The original designs show denomination of 42 cents, while the issued stamps have denomination of 44 cents.  |

Republic of China (Taiwan) Love and Caring March 20, 2003 The design uses ribbon with a shape of heart to convey four themes: (1) the "Love for Society" portrayed by volunteers who care for the elderly and the physically-challenged, (2) the "Love for Family" that brings strong ties between parents and children, (3) the "Love for the Earth" with which we treasure our natural environment and resources, and (4) the "Love for Animals" that calls for respecting life and caring for animals.  |
