SHE LOVES YOU, YEAH,YEAH,YEAH !The Fab Four in all their Philatelic Glory, although not very complimentary I have to say. Produced in 1964 by Hallmark Merchandisers of Los Angeles, these sold in Packets of 100 labels for 59c. The Beatles first toured the USA in the same year. Complete packets can still be found for around £40+, but appear to be scarce. Here are 4 of the labels, in Blocks of 4. A fifth shows the 'Fab Four' together. Perhaps, my favourite cinderella is this one issued for the Barcelona People's Olympiad to be held in my city, seventy five years ago. The event was aborted by the fascist Spanish army uprising of July 1936.  |
