For his fourth labor, Eurystheus commanded Heracles to capture and bring to him (alive!) the fierce Erymanthian Boar. Here is an image of a stamp depicting Heracles completing this labor as the terrified Eurystheus takes cover in a half-buried pithos (storage jar), printed by lithography, and issued by Greece on March 16, 1970, Scott No. 977. - nethryk  |

The red river hog ( Potamochoerus porcus) is a wild member of the pig family found in western Africa. Here is an image of a stamp depicting a red river hog, printed by photogravure, and issued for use in Rio Muni on November 23, 1967 as one of a set of three indigenous animals stamps for Stamp Day, Scott No. 67. - nethryk  |
