Could you please identify the Scott catalog number for this stamp?
Thin paper. What does the "pin hole" in the center mean?
Thanks for your help.

Doesn't look like laid paper, so Scott #105.

I collect pin holes in stamps . I don't pay to get them ,but collect the one's I find .

What does a pin hole tells you ? and why I save them ? Does anybody know ?

Reason----- that stamp was sold more than hundred years ago ,in the city park in Paris ,France and was sold by a vendor to a collector . Dealers would sell stamps attached to a billboard with a pin in the center for collectors to view them .

Dear floortrader

Thanks for plenty information.

I collect Russian zemstvo stamps:
There is a zemstvo stamp #1 LOKHVITSA (now Ukraine). It is rare: it costs about $1,000 if it does not have a needle hole. Since most of these stamps were stored at the post office on a thread, these stamps had a needle hole in the center. Stamps with needle holes are worth half as much.

Actually, many vendors in that age used pins to tack up stamps, not just the ones in Paris.
