I collect pin holes in stamps . I don't pay to get them ,but collect the one's I find .
What does a pin hole tells you ? and why I save them ? Does anybody know ?
Reason----- that stamp was sold more than hundred years ago ,in the city park in Paris ,France and was sold by a vendor to a collector . Dealers would sell stamps attached to a billboard with a pin in the center for collectors to view them .
I collect Russian zemstvo stamps: There is a zemstvo stamp #1 LOKHVITSA (now Ukraine). It is rare: it costs about $1,000 if it does not have a needle hole. Since most of these stamps were stored at the post office on a thread, these stamps had a needle hole in the center. Stamps with needle holes are worth half as much.
