I had only had stamps certified by the APS with no issues, only a long wait. So I decided to branch out and use the PF. Seemed pretty straight forward. Sent a used 90c Perry (155 - 166?) to be certified (that color really baffles me). Sent it in late November. Got back the copy of the 2nd copy sometime in December. Then late January I get a FedEx notification it is coming. Set to be delivered 31 Jan and required a signature. Set a time for delivery, came home and waited (took off two hours early to be home. It never shows. Next morning there's a ticket on my kitchen window, next to my backdoor that it was attempted to be delivered at 6:22 A.M. Go to the FedEx app and change deliver to a holding location here in town. 3 February it's back at FedEx hub in St. Louis and hasn't moved since. Finally get a hold of a REAL person at FedEx - not AI chat bot or unanswered email. 2 minutes after I give her my info, it's lost for good, can't be found! I need to contact PF. So I fire up the computer and the website won't load. I simply Google searched it. Strange. Go to incognito and do it again and it pops up. It kind of bugs me so I go back and scroll down. I find the website I used previously was a .org, but won't load and down below is the same name with .com. They look nothing alike, but have same info as best I can tell. Which is it? thephilatelicfoundation.com or philatelicfoundation.org ?
Help?

The .org site has a problem with their certificate or it just times out. Comes up on the incognito browser though. Addresses and phone numbers are the same. Doesn't have a certificate search though. Nor can I find the research papers. |

I use it several times a week and used it today. Loads fine with Safari and Edge. |

I don't know what was intended with the screenshot, but note that the screenshot is both a .com top level domain, and, it has a "the" in the URL. No bueno. |

The purpose of the screen shot was simple. This appears to be fraudulent. When the .org site doesn't load on my computer, I Google searched and found this site, which APPEARS to be either an attempt to defraud people or a newer look. Upon close inspection it appears to NOT be the PF, yet it has taken much of their information. Someone has gone to a lot of work to trick people. I thought it would be prudent to let people know there's a site that probably isn't what they claim. |

When I search for "philatelic foundation" via Google, the only entries that come up are the legit ones. I don't see your bogus .com version anywhere on the first page of results.
How deep into the Google results are you digging rather than just going to the main PF website?
I'm really not sure what the point is here... |

The .org site is down for me if I connect through my home Internet (Starlink), but not if I connect though a cellular connection. So, it's likely they're blocking certain blocks of IP addresses. |

It's on page 2 - so I'm not digging very far. The site I've used in the past and is in my bookmarks does not come up, but I'm seeing it in my incognito search, which is good. Obviously the error is on my end with a firewall or other setting, but my whole point is there's a site out there who is phishing. They've stolen and look to mirror something they are not. I doubt I'm not the only one who has ever found it. Sorry, for even bringing it up or even asking the question in the first place. |

I've discovered my VPN service (I installed end of December) was blocking the .org site. Still not sure why, but good to know. When I contact the Foundation about my certificates I will let them know that there is a website that has taken their images, address, phone number, etc...While MOST serious collectors will know it is a scam, I'm sure people wouldn't do this sort of thing if it wasn't profitable. Thanks to the staff for moving this to an appropriate topic. |
